Coffin Arrangement Service

A coffin arrangement is the central floral piece on the casket and often the last visible sign of connection. We craft it to measure — fitted to the coffin size, the desired flowers and the character of the person being remembered. In this sensitive time we handle the floristry completely: consultation, binding, coordination with the funeral director and timely delivery to the service.

Dignified made-to-measure coffin arrangement of fresh flowers

How it works: you come into the shop, call, or message via the contact form. We discuss the essentials calmly — the approximate coffin size (or whether it should be a full arrangement, a half piece or a diagonal arrangement), the favourite flowers or colours of the person who has passed, the style and your budget. If you’re unsure, we advise and suggest something fitting. You don’t have to decide everything yourself.

Scope: we bind the coffin arrangement completely — from the classic elongated shape to the full arrangement covering the entire casket, down to the smaller diagonal or head-end piece. On request a mourning ribbon with a personal text is added (‚In quiet mourning‘, ‚In love and gratitude‘, or your own wording). We also craft funeral wreaths, arrangements and urn decoration from a single source so everything matches in colour and style.

Coordination with the funeral director: usually the funeral director is already chosen and knows the coffin dimensions and the exact course of the service. We coordinate the delivery date, location (cemetery chapel, mourning hall, funeral home) and the handover directly with them — you don’t have to mediate between us and the director. Simply tell us who is arranging the funeral and we handle the rest.

Lead time and timing: a coffin arrangement should be commissioned at least 1–2 working days ahead so we can source the right flowers fresh and on purpose at the Veiling Rhein-Maas. For special varieties or larger full arrangements, 2–3 days is ideal. If it needs to be faster, talk to us — we always try to make short-notice bereavements possible.

Style and options: dignified does not necessarily mean only white. Many families wish for the favourite colours or flowers of the person who has passed — soft pastels, strong roses, natural meadow flowers or the classic ceremonial combination of white and green. We bind formally or loosely and naturally, exactly as it suits the person and the service.

Practice and freshness: we work with what arrived fresh from the Veiling Rhein-Maas — A1 quality across 45+ years of experience. With funeral floristry especially, it matters that the flowers look dignified and fresh throughout the entire service. Personal consultation is free and walk-in.

Frequently asked

How much lead time does a coffin arrangement need?
Ideally 1–2 working days, or 2–3 days for special flowers or a large full arrangement. For short-notice bereavements, still reach out — we always try to find a solution.
Do I need to know the coffin dimensions?
No. Just tell us which funeral director is arranging the service — we clarify the dimensions and the schedule directly with them. You don’t have to mediate between us and the director.
Do you deliver the arrangement to the service?
Yes. We deliver to the cemetery chapel, mourning hall or funeral home and arrange the handover so the piece is on site in good time and fresh.
Does the coffin arrangement have to be white?
No. White and green is classic, but many families choose the favourite colours or flowers of the person who has passed. We advise on what looks dignified and suits the service.
