Grave Flowers Gerresheim Cemetery

The Gerresheim forest cemetery at Quadenhofstraße 151 sits in eastern Düsseldorf, embedded in woodland on the slope of the Taubenberg towards Erkrath — around 33 hectares, in operation since 1906 and one of the most scenic cemeteries in the city. We bind grave flowers, funeral wreaths and arrangements in our Pempelfort shop, fresh from the Veiling Rhein-Maas. Honestly: that is a good 7–8 km across town — we deliver by arrangement, but many families prefer to collect in person.

Grave arrangement and funeral floristry for Gerresheim cemetery

How it works: you come into the shop, call, or write via the contact form. We discuss the occasion (burial, funeral service, anniversary, All Saints’ Day), the grave size (single, double or urn grave) and your style — calm and classic in white and green, or more colourful and personal. From there we bind.

Scope: grave arrangements and grave bouquets, funeral wreaths in every size, planted bowls and arrangements, plus seasonal grave planting. A mourning ribbon with text is made on request. For deeper guidance on planting and funeral floristry, see our linked guides — here we make sure it stands finished in front of you.

Lead time and timing: for burials and funeral services we like to plan 2–3 days ahead so special varieties can be sourced via the Veiling Rhein-Maas. A simple grave arrangement we often bind same- or next-day. Around All Saints’ in early November demand is high — please order a few days earlier then.

Style and season: the Gerresheim forest cemetery is naturalistic and set on a slope, often shaded under trees. We choose plants and cut flowers to suit the location and season — robust planting for summer, heather and chrysanthemum in autumn, fir and hardy accents for the cold months.

Practicalities and access: the cemetery is reached via Quadenhofstraße — by S-Bahn (S8/S28) to Gerresheim and bus 724/733 to the Waldfriedhof stop right at the lower entrance. The grounds are hilly and rise to around 120 metres. We deliver grave flowers by arrangement to a meeting point at the cemetery or to your home; many families, though, prefer to collect in person in Pempelfort and lay the arrangement themselves.

Frequently asked

How much lead time do you need for a burial in Gerresheim?
For funeral wreaths and special arrangements we like 2–3 days so we can source the flowers via the Veiling Rhein-Maas. A simple grave arrangement is often same- or next-day — just call and we’ll tell you honestly what’s feasible.
Do you deliver the grave flowers to Gerresheim cemetery?
By arrangement, yes. The forest cemetery is a good 7–8 km from Pempelfort and set on a slope — we agree a meeting point at the Quadenhofstraße entrance or deliver to your home. Many families prefer to collect in person and lay the arrangement themselves.
What does a grave arrangement or funeral wreath cost?
A grave arrangement starts at around €35, a planted bowl from €45. Funeral wreaths begin near €90, large generous wreaths from €150 upwards. Tell us your budget — we are transparent and bind accordingly.
Do you also handle grave planting throughout the year?
We plant grave bowls and graves seasonally and advise on what thrives in the shaded, naturalistic setting in Gerresheim. We do not offer ongoing grave-care subscriptions — on-site care services are the better choice for that. For seasonal planting tips, see our guides.
