Grave Planting Service
A planted grave speaks of care — even when you cannot be there every week yourself. We take on seasonal grave planting for you: we choose plants suited to the season, the location and your budget, and set them carefully at the grave. Four changes a year keep the grave alive all year round.
How it works: you come into the shop, call, or write via the contact form. We discuss which grave it concerns (cemetery, location, size, sun or shade), what planting you have in mind and how low-maintenance it should be. We then suggest a plant combination — and once you approve, we carry out the planting directly at the grave.
Seasonal and bespoke: we typically plant for the four changes of the year. In spring pansies, primroses, forget-me-nots and early bulbs; in summer heat-tolerant long-flowering plants such as begonias, geraniums or wax begonias; in autumn heather, chrysanthemums and ornamental grasses; in winter conifers, Christmas rose and winter-hardy greenery. Which plant belongs where depends on the location and the character of the grave — we work that out together.
Scope of service: we supply the plants, prepare the soil, plant them and arrange the area harmoniously — on request with a calm, permanent frame planting and seasonal flowers changing in the centre. Plant-selection advice on its own is free and walk-in. Ongoing full care with watering and maintenance visits across the year is part of our perpetual grave care offer.
Lead time and timing: for a set seasonal change we like to plan a few days ahead so we can source the right plants specifically at the Veiling Rhein-Maas auction. Spontaneous requests are often possible at short notice too — depending on the desired plant and availability. Just tell us by when it should be ready.
Practice and quality: we source daily at the Veiling Rhein-Maas and work in A1 quality. That means strong, well-rooted plants that take hold and don’t wilt after two weeks. We believe in love over volume — a considered, harmonious planting rather than a quickly crammed plot.

- How much lead time do you need for grave planting?
- For a set seasonal change a few days is ideal so we can source the right plants at the auction. Much is possible at short notice too — just tell us your preferred date.
- Do you also handle watering and ongoing care?

- What budget should I expect?
- Seasonal planting starts at around €60 for a small grave, plants and materials included. Size, location and effort determine the price — we discuss it transparently before we begin.
- Do we need to meet at the grave, or is a description enough?
- An accurate description with cemetery, location, size and a few photos is usually all we need. We then carry out the planting at the grave independently. For special wishes we are happy to look on site too.
