Flowers in Garath
Garath sits in the far south of Düsseldorf, on the Rhine's lower terrace, along the rail line towards Cologne. The district was designed by city planner Friedrich Tamms from 1956/57 and built in the 1960s as the planned „Wohnstadt Garath“ on the drawing board — lots of green space, terraced housing, the high-rise ensemble, and on its south-eastern edge the eponymous Schloss Garath with its park. The striking St Matthew's church by Gottfried Böhm is another landmark. People in Garath are known for their strong attachment to the neighbourhood, and that down-to-earth quality shows in the flower orders too: solid, warm, unpretentious.
Garath is grouped around the S-Bahn station centre and the Garather Schloßallee. By S-Bahn, the S6 line runs from the main station via Oberbilk, Reisholz and Benrath to Garath in about 15–18 minutes. For us that means a longer drive, so delivery here is best by arrangement and with a little lead time.
