Flowers in Hafen (Medienhafen)
The Medienhafen is not a classic residential district but Düsseldorf's architecture and business quarter on the Rhine. Between the curved Gehry buildings at Neuer Zollhof, the colourful Colorium on Speditionstraße and the glass Stadttor sit more than 700 companies from advertising, media, consulting and fashion. Our bouquets here land mostly at reception desks, in agency offices, in hotels and restaurants — rather than at private front doors.
The harbour stretches along the old docks: Speditionstraße with the Colorium, restaurants and hotels, Kaistraße as the lifestyle axis with the Chipperfield buildings, Neuer Zollhof with the three wavy Gehry towers and the Stadttor at the transition to the government quarter. Anyone ordering “flowers to the harbour” almost always means a company address, a hotel or a restaurant — there is barely any pure residential housing.
Typical occasions are therefore business-oriented: bouquets for an office opening or a company anniversary, reception arrangements for events and trade fairs, thank-you bouquets for business partners, plus table and counter decoration for the gastronomy along Kaistraße. Private birthday or congratulation deliveries are rare here, simply because so few people live directly in the harbour.
We deliver on weekdays and Saturdays. Same-day delivery for orders placed by around 12:00 is usually possible here — but a clear time window matters, since many harbour reception desks are only staffed during the day and closed at weekends. For event or reception deliveries we agree the exact drop-off time in advance.
Stylistically the harbour suits clarity over playfulness: tidy, architectural bouquets, monochrome bindings, premium A1-quality cut flowers from the Veiling Rhein-Maas, ideally in white, green and muted tones. For reception desks and conference rooms we recommend long-lasting arrangements that stay fresh and representative for several days.
From our shop in Pempelfort (Duisburger Straße 55) it is about 4 to 5 km south to the Medienhafen, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car depending on city-centre traffic. By public transport you go via the centre (Heinrich-Heine-Allee) and change to light-rail lines U71/U72 or tram lines 706/707/709 towards Bilk/Hafen. We deliver by vehicle ourselves so the bouquets arrive protected and on time at the reception.
