Flowers in Volmerswerth
Volmerswerth is one of Düsseldorf's smallest and quietest neighbourhoods — an old Rhine village of around 2,200 residents in city district 3, with no main road running through it. About 70 percent of the area is still fields, market gardens and greenhouses. For generations the village lived from growing vegetables and crops for the city; flowers now grow on many of those plots too. Our bouquets here land in detached houses, old farmsteads and quiet residential streets right behind the Rhine dike.

The village is compact: Volmerswerther Straße as its lifeline, the Volmerswerther Deich along the water, plus residential pockets such as Auf dem Rheindamm and around Abteihofstraße. At its heart stands the neogothic church St. Dionysius, built in the mid-19th century (1854/55) to plans by Vincenz Statz, with the striking tower following in 1865/66.
The Rhine dike itself is a popular meeting point for walkers, cyclists and skaters, with wide views across the river, the Fleher Brücke and the Rheinbogen. Those who live here have the water and the green fields practically on their doorstep.
Typical occasions in Volmerswerth tend to be family-oriented and down-to-earth: milestone birthdays in long-established families, bouquets for communions and confirmations, thank-you greetings for neighbours, and funeral flowers for farewells at St. Dionysius. Many customers here know flowers from their own gardens and value freshness and longevity over effect.
We deliver on weekdays and Saturdays. Volmerswerth sits a fair way south-west of our shop, so we'll be honest: same-day is possible but not guaranteed — please order by 12:00 at the latest and ideally check in with us first. For fixed dates like funerals or birthdays we prefer to plan the delivery a day ahead, then it's certain.
Stylistically we recommend natural, garden-like bouquets for Volmerswerth: seasonal cut flowers from the Veiling Rhein-Maas, loosely bound, happily with grasses, eucalyptus or seasonal greenery. That suits the rural, green character better than tightly styled arrangements.
Honest about the connection from Pempelfort: Volmerswerth lies roughly 7 to 8 km south-west of our shop on Duisburger Straße. By car it's around 20 minutes depending on traffic. By public transport only one line runs directly into the village — bus 726, terminating at Volmerswerther Deich. Tram 706 only reaches the adjacent Bilk area (as far as Bilker Kirche), from where you change to bus 726. We deliver by car ourselves, but plan a little more lead time for this route.
